Our mission is to bring together people from all walks, backgrounds, professions, and ethnicities, who share a common love of Italian food, language and, most of all, Culture.
The idea is that we do so not in the sterile atmosphere of a classroom, but through intimate social and learning gatherings and experiences – just like the people of Italy do when they get together. It is the Italian way of life that we would like to share for the enjoyment of all.
The DAS members regularly get information about the upcoming cultural events. A good way to get info is also our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Members provide critical funds to support the work and activities of Dante Alighieri Society.

As a member, you will connect with fellow Italy enthusiasts, participate in unique experiential offerings, and deepen your appreciation of Italy and its rich legacyWhich membership would you like to purchase?

• Studente – $65/year – The basic single membership grants you the access to some of the DAS cultural events during the year and the 20% discount on VIP events.
• Cavaliere – $150/year – This is the basic membership that includes invitation to all DAS events during the year and invitation to VIP events. With this membership you can also attend the events with your spouse or bring a friend.
• Medici – $500/year – Benefits of Cavaliere Level, plus you are allowed to bring 3 guests to every event and you’ll be admitted to all VIP events with your guests. This membership includes the recognition in printed materials and 2 invitations as DAS guests to the annual party to celebrate the Italian actors and directors doing to Charleston for Nuovo Cinema Italiano Festival
• Granduca – $1000/ year – Benefits of Medici level, plus the invitation to the Autumn lunch hosted by the DAS president and vice president and 2 lessons of introduction or refinement of Italian language. Also a Granduca will have a recognition on DAS program and invitation to Cinema Festival parties and meetings with guests directors and actors.
