Ravioli, the beloved Italian stuffed pasta, has a rich history that traces back to the Middle Ages in Italy. The earliest documented mentions of Ravioli appear in the 14th century, with Italian merchant Francesco di Marco Datini writing about them in his letters. The dish is believed to have originated in Northern Italy, particularly in the Lombardy and Piedmont regions.
