On February 20, 2022 the Grenville Circle of the Dante Alighieri Society of Charleston, SC was born. The Greenville’s Members will have access to three or more events in Greenville per year, plus the Medici or Granduca Members will be invited to the Charleston events.

The first Greenville event of 2022 was held on April 8th, with “The Shadow of Love in the Renaissance”. Guest speaker was Dr. Rebekah Compton.
On August 26, 2022 was the time of Summer Salon, “Divine Dante” lecture offering new insight from Dante’s Divine Comedy with Dante Scholar Natalina Ferlauto.
On November 18, 2022, “Sip and Learn” with Stefano Paris, a former National Geographic guide from Rome, for an outstanding virtual tour of Italy, tasting wines from 4 different regions.
On March, 3, 2023, a brilliant lecture, “Mozart in Italy” with orchestra conductor Wojciech Milewski, recounting the journey of young composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Italy.
On May 23, 2023, the very special evening of “Ponder Anew”, tour of Baroque Masterpieces on loan from the Museum & Gallery of Bob Jones University led by Executive Director Erin Jones.
On October 8, 2023, “Passeggiata Autunnale”, a special first-hand look at the Upstate’s new town center development, BridgeWay station. Phil Hughes, of Hughes Investments, described the project’s Italian inspired architecture.
On November 9,2023, we hosted Marie-Charlotte Piro of Olio Piro, to lead a extra virgin olive oil tasting, teaching us about the benefits of consuming extra virgin olive oil and its unique production process.
